Callisto at Space Engineering and Technology Final Presentation Days

Space Engineering and Technology Final Presentation Days hold on July 03 at ESOC in Germany. During the final presentation, Callisto presented the X & Ka-Band Cryo cooled Feed developments for ESA. The presentation outlined the prototypes overview that comprises RF architectures & Chains, X-band High power junction (OMTJ) along with the cryogenic redundancy concept with a double sleeve. The main objective is to improve  DSA G/T for future deep space missions with + 1dB at X-band (8.4 – 8.5GHz) & + 2dB at Ka-band (31.8 – 32.3GHz).  As a result, Cryo cooled feed prototypes have been successfully developed and tested  with calculated G/T Gain of + 3 dB at Ka-band  & +1.7 dB at X-band. Moreover, the Cryo redundancy is  operating thanks to the double sleeve proven concept.
